Illinois’ 15th District is the largest Congressional district in the state, by area, covering nearly 15,000 square miles, and all or part of 33 counties. The district reaches from Paxton, in Ford County, to the north, to Metropolis, in Massac County, to the south. That’s a trip of about 250 miles and nearly 4 hours by car.
The 15th includes some of the world’s most productive farmland, coal mines, oil fields, and wind farms, making it one of the most valuable areas in the country for energy production. It includes the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Greenville University in Greenville, as well as the Shawnee National Forest.
Darren Duncan will be an advocate for agriculture, job creators, workers, higher education, energy, and natural resources in Congress. He knows how important each sector of the economy is to central and southern Illinois, and he’ll work night and day as our best advocate in Washington.
